Chef Lo - Executive Pastry Chef

Chef Lo, a devoted mother of four, discovered her true calling in the kitchen later in life. Despite her lifelong passion for baking, it was only recently that she fully embraced her talent. She proudly graduated at the top of her class from the Stratford University Culinary Program and has since worked for some of the Metro DC Area's premium food and catering companies. Her journey is a testament to following one's dreams and achieving excellence at any stage in life. 🎂👩‍🍳✨

Kat is an effervescent marketing extraordinaire with over 20 years of experience in business and marketing. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with numerous Fortune 500 companies, including Verizon, GM, AT&T, and McDonald's, bringing their marketing visions to life and achieving remarkable success.

Despite holding an Associate Degree in Business Management, Kat attributes her vast knowledge and skills to hands-on learning and real-world experiences. After the pandemic, Kat embarked on the biggest challenge of her career—launching Blended Desserts. With this business venture, she aims to create a lasting legacy for her family and showcase her passion for innovative and delicious desserts. 🌟🍰

What is Gluten?

Gluten is a protein naturally found in some grains including wheat, barley, and rye. It acts like a binder, holding food together and adding a “stretchy” quality—think of a pizza maker tossing and stretching out a ball of dough. Without gluten, the dough would rip easily.

What substitute ingredients do you use?

At our bakery, we proudly use King Arthur’s gluten-free flour blend, made with a mix of tapioca, rice, sorghum, and potato starch. You’ll also find almond flour, oat flour, and rice flour featured in many of our recipes. Want to know exactly what’s in your dessert? Just check the ingredients list—we’re always transparent about the substitutes we use.

For our dairy-free creations, we swap out traditional dairy with plant-based butter and either almond or oat milk. And if you’re looking for sugar-free options, we sweeten our treats with a blend of monk fruit and erythritol.

Are your products certified gluten-free?

While we specialize in gluten-free treats, please be aware that we bake in shared spaces, so cross-contamination is a possibility. This also applies to nut products, including peanuts, almonds, walnuts, and pecans.
